We had a well earned rest this weekend.

My partner has been working 12 hour days and I am putting in 10 hour days. But we need the money.

I got into work for my usual time and about 8am my friend Catie walks in. Call it instinct but I could tell something was wrong. OK the clues were there (she shouldn't have been in till 10am and she was crying).

A trip to the Ladies was in order.

Catie has been seeing Rob for just under a year but they have been friends for about 5 years (met at college). Their relationship is perfect, when she talks - he listens. You can tell he thinks the world of her. She can do no wrong.

Catie knows this deep down but some bitch (an old "friend" of hers) was speaking to her a few weeks ago and made snide comments about Rob. Just the usual stuff "Are you sure Rob is working late" and "he's very friendly with Lucie isn't he...". Now the seeds of doubt have been sown.

Catie knows Rob wouldn't do anything like that but the doubts are there, niggling away in her mind. She has started to question his every move. Rob is getting upset with her and she thinks he is covering his tracks. And so on and so on.

I would like to kill this person - I hate people like that. People who can't bear to see someone else be happy in a relationship.

I don't know what to say to Catie, I can only offer her hugs, tea and tissues.

Maybe over time Rob can alay her fears but will the doubts ever truly disappear...?
