I was reading the BBC Online news today when an article caught my attention.

It seems strange to think that the Americans are trying to copy us, when the playground and even the office is full of "Friends Speak".

Too often I hear "Whatever" and see the accompanying hand gesture when children are arguing. In the office its all Ross/Chandler phrases.

Too say it can become very annoying when you are trying to have a serious conversation is an understatement.

I admit it - I have done it myself but then I even began to irrate myself nevermind who I was talking to.

Fun phrases can lighten the moment and prevent tears but as with anything, moderation is the keyword.
