I read in the news today that there is a new codition out that affects children called "Septemberitis". Basiclly this means children become depressed as it gets closer to the new school term. What a load of bollocks.

I am sorry but this is going too far.

I quote from BBC News " children are so used to being their own boss in the summer that they find it hard to get on with both teachers and class-mates when they go back to school.

This prevents them from developing impulse control and so there is an inevitable clash of cultures when they return to the classroom where they are required to conform, defer their gratification, and consider other people,"

So basically, children are trying to get away with cheeking the teacher and if they don't like a fellow pupil and things get out of hand and they thump them, they can claim they have Septemberitis.

I think PC has gone way to far. If a kid is giving me cheek I would have no qualms in thumping them. I don't belive in pussy-footing around. If I ever have children and they have a go at me - they will feel the back of my hand.

I was brought up to respect my elders and if I didn't then I was smacked. I soon learned not to do that again and I don't see why today's children can't be brought up the same way.
