Flying I am on call this week – Oh and it’s a Bank Holiday on Monday so there goes my relaxing Long Weekend. Generally whenever there is a Bank Holiday, major server work happens and you can virtually guarantee that some idiot will have come into the office to get overtime, and can't login in despite being warned that the servers will be unavailable. Never mind its more money for me. Long Live Numpties. So its now 12 days till I have to get on a ‘plane. I hate flying with a vengeance. I don’t know why I hate it so much, I used to love it when I was a little girl. When I went to the Caribbean a few years back, it was a 10 hour flight and I hated every minute of it. I wouldn’t move out of my seat, not even to let the bloke by the window to pass, he had to keep climbing over me. He found it amusing at first then I think he got rather annoyed. For the return flight there were a few “technical” problems…firstly they forgot to send a ‘plane. How the bloody hell do you forget to send a ‘plane…? Its not like you forgot to order a taxi…! We only found this out after waiting 12 hours in the airport. Eventually we were sent back to the hotels and told to come back the next day. The next day we all went to the airport and we were told the plane was slightly delayed. It turned out it was in Barbados having its electrics fiddled with as they had failed. Oh Wonderful. As you may gather I was starting to get slightly worried. After another 6 hours the plane finally landed in Jamaica. It was a further 2 hours before we were allowed to board. By this time I was in such as state they got me on first, put us in First Class and gave me lots of wonderful little tablets to make me sleep. I took the tablets and drifted off, I woke up about 8 hours later and looked through the curtain that separated us and the Pilots, to find a Pilot blowing up the inflatable life raft.. You can imagine the rest. So as you can tell I am so looking forward to my next flight. At least this is only 9 hours in total. I must get some of those little tablets from my Doctor and hopefully I won’t wake up to see the Pilot strapping on a Parachute. ** 0 Comments** |
