Food I am a vegetarian and have been for about 17 years. But just lately I have started to think about eating meat again. Not red meat, I don't think I could do that but chicken and turkey but there is one tiny problem with that plan...even when I used to eat meat I never ate chicken or turkey as I didn't like them. So that buggers that theory. This has come about because at the moment I find food boring, I can't find anything exciting to eat. Lunch at work is normally cheese or salad or if I am feeling adventurous, egg mayonnaise. I don't eat Quorn as the texture is extremely off putting and there are numerous reports of people having sever allergic reactions to it. I don't mind smoked tofu, but it has to be the smoked variety, some of the vegetarian range from Linda McCartney is ok, but not fantastic, other parts are just vile. I have a total aversion to vegetable lasagne for the simple reason of when Vegetarian food was first on the menu at restaurants and pubs it was always veg lasagne and that was it. You could say I overdosed on it. So where does that leave me...? Hungry for the most part or stuffed full of fatty takeaway food. Its not as if I can have spicy food either to make things a bit more interesting, my illness is unpredictable as it is, never mind after shoving a vindaloo down my neck. I have bought loads of cookery books but surprise surprise they are mainly meat based and vegetarian cookbooks require Quorn or similar. I am pretty frustrated at the moment, I am not myself, I am so tired still even after pumping myself full of vitamins. I need to get better, I have a horse to look after as well as being a wonderful partner to Roop *ahem*. I need to get better so I can join in the fun with Roop instead of watching from the sidelines. The buck stops here and it stops now. ** 0 Comments** |
