Open University
07.01.03 - 13:27

Following on from Yesterday, I have been talking to a few people about doing the Open University and they recommend it. Although apparently the degree is not recoginsed by America, which I don't understand. Surely a Degree is a Degree...?

I am debating which area to go for but like I said to them...I am very good with Ancient History up to, at a push, 1700's after that I am hopeless. Just have no interest in Modern History. So I may go towards the Science area. Very good at the Sciences but crap at Maths (go figure) so I just don't know.

One area of the course I would like to study is this, perhaps go towards Humanities or History or Science. trouble is, I don't know which sort of job I could use the degree for if it was Humanities.

It is all very confusing. I need 360 points for a Honours Degree...so if I did do the History of Science, Technology and Medicine, I would need to do some other courses to make up the points. Also I have missed the registration for this year. There are still some Level 1 courses available but not the recommended A103 An Introduction to the Humanities.

I need to be sure before I commit to anything as it will take a lot of time and money which I can ill afford to spare.

I can always do a few of the shorter, less expensive Level 1 courses and see how I feel...perhaps that is the way to do it...?

Gosh...I feel ever so grown up ;o)
