Party Girl
07.11.01 - 19:30

So here I am sat at the computer with a bottle of wine and some gorgeous scented candles, Winter Berries and Champagne. I am not one for scented candles but I couldn’t stop sniffing them in Sainsbury’s.

Rupert is in London at an awards ceremony and won’t be home until the early hours of tomorrow morning.

I was thinking back to a few years ago and what I was like (the photo was taken around that time). I had the reputation of being a party girl, I was always the one up for a night out, going on holiday at the wave of a passport or just getting completely drunk at a girls night in.

I had a friend who was similar to me and had a house opposite work. After work on a Tuesday and Thursday, we went to hers and got ready to go out. We would hit most of the bars around Preston and then go onto to a club. At 3 am (chucking out time) we would grab some food and head back to hers.

Her to go to bed, me to grab my stuff and head back into work. I had one of those jobs where you could start when you wanted as long as it was before 9am. I got most of the work done in those hours before dawn. It also made it easier as I was looking after the Hong Kong accounts, so I could deal with them in their working hours.

Weekends I never went to bed at all, well not on my own, if you see what I mean. I would disappear for days on end and only go home to wash my clothes and show my parents I was still alive. They were pretty cool about it all. They allowed me my own way and because of that I am very independent and can certainly look after myself.

Ahh how time changes us. I am in bed by 9pm most nights, snuggled up to Rupert, talking about the day’s events, planning for the future, having a laugh, delighting in each other’s company and most of all just enjoying each other.

I think I am finally growing up.
