There is no riding for me this weekend or next weekend either. I don't think Rupert is flying either. There are exams on at the college so no lessons are available and next week I am oncall for work.

Whenever I am oncall, you can guarantee something will go wrong. There are normally server outages or systems don't come online as requested.

I can't wait...

Tonight I am popping round to my boss's house to borrow some DVD's that we can watch over the weekend. He has updated his list and has about 300 now.

Who needs Blockbusters...?

A work friend has lent me the BHS Stage 1 book, this book is so basic, if you are planning on taking your Stage 1, normally you have been riding for a few years and know the score. This book is for complete beginners. I couldn't believe it. The only thing I didn't know was how to make linseed jelly.

When I had my horse I was only 12 and I wasn't allowed near the cooker and Mum wouldn't have made it anyway. A woman at the stables used to make it for everyone and so I never bothered learning how to make it.

*******

I have finally bought Rupert his Christmas present. To say it cost a pretty penny is an understatement. The deposit alone was over £100.

He is being a nightmare about it. He is always trying to guess what his presents are. Last night he was guessing for well over 2 hours and had another go today.

Rupert: You will find out on Christmas Day what your present is. Now leave it. OK sweetie..?

He is just as bad, he reckons he has maxed out his credit card on me. He must think I was born yesterday.

He had better be joking. I won't be happy if he has.

I still need to think of what I can get my Mum and Dad. I did offer to pay for Sky for a year. Mum has been after it for ages but Dad won't go for it. So of course Mum was well happy. Dad said No.

When we go home for Christmas we will take the spare Satellite Dish and the box and rig it up at home to try and tempt Dad.

So I still need to get them somthing and to make it worse my Mum's birthday is on Christmas Eve. I know we are going out for a meal, but what to get her..? I really don't know.

The best I could come up with was a £30 gift voucher to buy what books she wants. We nearly have enough books at home to start our own libary up.

Anyway, time to go and look at the DVD list.
