When I mentioned I was going to trash my PC I didn't mean it literally.

Unfortunately the PC took offence at that statement and broke.

It will just switch itself off at random intervals. We have tried all sorts, swapping network cards, graphics cards...you name it, it was swapped. All that was left was to change the motherboard, CPU and fan.

So I have. I spent a fortune on this computer over the weekend and now I just have to wait for the parts to arrive.

I am so disappointed, I bought this PC just over 2 years ago for about £1500, it has probably had about 6 months work and now its bust.

I feel like I have just thrown a load of money away....again.

At the moment XP is sort of installed. Just good enough to browse the internet, read the news and do my Diary. Although when I tried to import my e-Mail backup, XP won't/doesn't want to recognise it. I have another 2 backups and none of them work either.

I am just hoping it is because XP didn't install properly. I am so tempted to stick with 2000. XP seems for wont of a better word "fluffy", all pretty colours and soft edges. I prefer the functionality of 2000, but I have discovered that you can change the settings in XP so it resembles the 2000 look.

All I can do is wait. Hopefully the parts should be here tomorrow and that XP will install correctly and I can sucessfully import my mail/address backup.

If not - I have just lost all my addresses and e-Mails.
